ABOUT CIERRA
Cierra Hill is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger and educator, currently residing in the Twin Cities of Minnesota. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Music degree in Strings Performance from McNally Smith College of Music in 2012 and has been performing professionally in a variety of musical styles for over 15 years. Cierra began learning music on the piano at the age of 2 and began violin and fiddle lessons at the age of 9. Cello lessons were soon to follow at the age of 12 and since then, she has also learned to play viola, mandolin, mountain dulcimer, and guitar.
Cierra has performed with many local musicians in the Twin Cities, including Mick Sterling, Shalo Lee, Scottie Miller, Wayne Anthony, and also Kat Perkins and Chris Kroeze from NBC's The Voice. Beyond the local scene, Cierra has performed in arenas with touring acts from around the world including Michael Bublé, Disturbed, Brian Setzer, Kygo, Celtic Woman, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra and for the NFL Minnesota Vikings pre-kickoff introductions. She is also the electric violinist for the video game band Do a Barrel Roll!, and has performed at conventions across the US with the band. Besides performances with groups, she also performs for private events as a solo electric violinist. Recent solo event performances include the Minnesota Zoo, Ferrari and The Four Seasons Hotel.

As a composer, arranger and recording artist, Cierra has worked with many local and international artists and producers, creating a variety of string styles for both recording sessions and live settings. Most recently (2022), Cierra arranged and recorded string quintet for Scottie Miller's Carnival Cocoon album. In her free time, she also creates at least one monthly arrangement of her choice to record and add to YouTube every month.
Cierra specializes in many styles and is a teacher of both classical and alternative styles for Violin, Mandolin, Viola, Cello and Piano, online via video chat. As a teacher, she has been a guest clinician for school orchestras around the city, focusing on alternative string music and helping the young string students of today learn how to create and have fun!
Cierra currently plays a 1782 Hentschel acoustic violin and is a Wood Violins artist, playing a custom purple 7-String Viper electric violin by Mark Wood.
